Cookie Policy

Applies to: United KingdomLast updated: August 2026Version: 1.1

This Cookie Policy explains how UnityLink Financial Services Limited ("UnityLink", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, what they do, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice.

01About This Cookie Policy

Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your personal data and the rights you have. We use cookies in accordance with UK data protection law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR).

02What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use similar technologies such as tags and browser local storage; where we say "cookies" in this policy, we mean all of these unless we say otherwise.

Cookies may be "first-party" (set by us) or "third-party" (set by another organisation, such as an analytics or marketing provider). They may last only for your visit ("session" cookies) or remain until they expire or you delete them ("persistent" cookies).

03How We Ask for Your Consent

The first time you visit our website, we show you a cookie banner. Only essential cookies are set automatically. Analytics and marketing cookies are switched off by default and are set only after you turn them on and save your choice — for example by using "Save Preferences" or "Accept", or by choosing "Reject Optional" to keep them off.

We do not treat continued use of our website as consent, and we do not set non-essential cookies until you have made an active choice. You can change your mind at any time (see Managing Your Choices).

04The Cookies We Use

The cookies below are used on our website, grouped by the categories shown in the banner.

05Analytics: What We Measure

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our site — including page views, session duration, device and approximate location, app-store clicks and form submissions — so we can improve it. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months. If you do not accept analytics cookies, we do not use them.

06Marketing

If you accept marketing cookies, we use Mailchimp to remember your newsletter signup and pop-up preferences and to see which page a signup came from, so we do not show you the same pop-up repeatedly.

Separately, when we send you marketing emails, those emails may use a small tracking pixel and tracked links that tell us whether you opened the email or clicked a link. That is part of our email marketing rather than a website cookie, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle marketing and your choices.

07Remembering Your Choices

To remember the choices you make in the banner, we store the following in your browser's local storage. These are not cookies and are not used for tracking — they simply keep a record of your preferences so we can honour them:

Stored valueWhat it does
unitylink_cookies_preferencesStores your full set of choices — which cookie categories you have enabled or disabled.
unitylink_cookies_acceptedRecords that you have made a choice (set once you select Accept, Reject or Save).

08Third-Party Cookies and International Transfers

Our analytics and marketing cookies are provided by third parties (Google and Mailchimp). Those providers may process the information they collect outside the United Kingdom. Where that involves a transfer of your personal data, we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law. Our Privacy Notice explains how we protect personal data transferred outside the UK.

09Managing Your Choices

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link, which appears in the cookie banner and in the footer of our website. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and takes effect from the point you change your choice.

We will also ask you to confirm your choices again after six months, and sooner if we make significant changes to the cookies we use.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings — including deleting cookies already stored and asking to be warned before new ones are set. Please note that blocking essential cookies may stop parts of our website from working. Browser controls are an additional option and are not a substitute for the choices you make in our cookie banner.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
